At IFA Motorola announced the newest member of the Moto Z family which is Moto Z Play. As you know rest of the two Z devices are high end in term of spec, but this is budget friendly and more affordable.
The Moto Z Play will exclusively available at Verizon on September 8 for $17 per month month with a device payment plan or $408 full retail. If you wish to purchase the unlocked version with any carrier restriction you can buy one for $449.99. The pre orders will start from September 15th onward and it will arrive on October the date is not confirmed yet. Note The unlocked variant will be GSM-only.
In terms of specs and features, you will get a phone with similar size and dimensions to the Z and Z Force. That makes sense, because it is design to work with available Moto Mods it will also support the future release as well. You are getting a 5.5-inch FHD AMOLED display with 1080p resolution. Qualcomm octa core Snapdragon 625 processor with 3GB RAM, 32GB of in build storage and it support SD card up to 2TB. The battery is 3510mAh with fast charging option, they have used 16MP f2.0 rear camera with phase detection and laser autofocus, (like the one in Nexus 6p). Front camera is 5 Mega pixel, front-ported speaker, water repellent coating, NFC, USB Type-C port, fingerprint reader, and a 3.5mm headphone jack for audio.
The Moto Z Play will run Android 6.0.1 out of the box and include all of the best from Motorola features like Display, Voice, and Actions.
